Two men have been arrested for robbing a senior citizen of gold and valuables in Belagavi. Officers from the Camp Police Station detained Rahul Kamble and Babasaheb Katageri, who took 930 grams of gold worth ₹73 lakh from Vishwanath. The victim’s children had hired Rahul as a caretaker. He earned the elderly man’s trust, located the valuables, and removed the gold gradually before depositing it at a private firm for loans. Babasaheb reportedly assisted in the theft. Investigators recovered the items. Police Commissioner Borase Bhushan Gulabrao stated on May 29 that families should store valuables in bank lockers. He praised the team led by Deputy Commissioners Narayan Baramani and Niranjan Raje Urs for solving the case.
