Governor Lakshman Prasad Acharya administered the oath of office and secrecy to 12 legislators—11 from the BJP and one from the Asom Gana Parishad—at Jyoti-Bishnu Antarjatik Kala Mandir in Guwahati. The Chief Minister described the group as balanced and representative of all sections of society, saying their experience would help build a developed Assam. Sarma had assumed office on May 12 along with four other ministers. Eight of the new ministers have prior experience, while the remaining four include first-time legislators and former office holders.
