Educator and online content creator Faizal Khan, widely known as Khan Sir, faces further regulatory attention after a fire safety inspection at his Patna institution. The review follows recent violence outside the premises earlier this month.
Bihar Fire Services carried out the audit at Khan Global Studies on Sunday. Officials reported several shortcomings and issued a notice requiring corrections within seven days.
The check forms part of wider statewide inspections prompted by recent deadly fires at a Delhi hotel and a hospital in Muzaffarpur.
Assistant District Fire Officer Ajay Kumar Sharma stated that the audit belongs to an ongoing effort to ensure compliance at large facilities. Any identified issues must be addressed promptly, or additional measures will follow.
The institute lacked a fire alarm system, had no fire pump, and maintained an insufficient overhead water tank, according to the department. The inspection also responded to the centre’s request for a fire safety certificate for a new building.
DIG Manoj Kumar Nut noted problems with fixed firefighting systems and occupancy arrangements. Facilities must meet standards to avoid penalties or closure under state rules. Recent incidents have led to stricter enforcement, with dozens of hotels and hospitals already reviewed.
The audit occurs amid a separate case involving alleged vandalism and gunfire outside the institute on June 2. Police have arrested individuals connected to a rival centre as well as two security guards employed by Khan Global Studies. Khan Sir faces charges including attempted murder, though his lawyer has rejected the claims and plans to seek anticipatory bail.
