Moonshot AI, the creator of the Kimi chatbot, has begun early discussions with potential investors to raise more than $1 billion, according to people familiar with the matter. The talks come as the company approaches the close of a funding round led by Meituan that would value the firm at $20 billion. Reaching the new target would represent a sevenfold increase from its December valuation of just over $4 billion.
