At least four people died in Israeli strikes on southern Lebanon towns including Adshit, Haboush and Kfar Rumman, according to the state-run National News Agency. The Israeli military’s Arabic spokesperson ordered residents of Tyre, Lebanon’s fifth-largest city, to leave immediately and move north past the Zahrani river, including the Christian quarter and nearby camps. The order cited Hezbollah violations of a ceasefire and attacks on Israeli territory. Such operations frequently result in civilian casualties and damage to infrastructure. Over one million people have fled due to renewed fighting, creating a major humanitarian emergency with limited access to food, shelter and medical care. Israeli forces state they are targeting Hezbollah positions in southern Lebanon to protect northern Israel. Iran, a long-time Hezbollah supporter, has said no agreement with the United States will be reached until Israeli operations in Lebanon end. Lebanon became involved after Hezbollah launched rockets in March in retaliation for the killing of an Iranian leader. In remarks to the BBC, Donald Trump said he urged Benjamin Netanyahu to apply common sense during their recent call and noted progress toward a significant agreement that would prevent Iranian nuclear weapons. Trump indicated the Strait of Hormuz could reopen within days of any deal and stressed there were no major remaining obstacles, though issues over asset releases and Lebanon operations persist. He warned against further bombing, saying it would delay reopening of the strait and cause more deaths. Trump described the conflict between Israel and Iran as longstanding and said both sides had agreed to pause actions for about a week following his involvement.
