Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled for an official trip to France and Slovakia between June 13 and 19, 2026, after which he will join the G7 Summit in France, according to the Ministry of External Affairs announcement on Tuesday.
The tour starts in France on June 14 with bilateral meetings alongside President Emmanuel Macron. The two sides plan to assess progress across the India-France Special Global Strategic Partnership, which was recently raised to its highest tier.
During the stay, the leaders will open the “Bharat Innovates” gathering, a key event connecting startups and venture capital from India, France and additional partner nations. It forms part of the India-France Year of Innovation and seeks to boost ties in technology, entrepreneurship and investment.
Next, Modi will make a State Visit to Slovakia from June 14 to 16 at the invitation of Prime Minister Robert Fico. This represents the first visit by an Indian prime minister to Slovakia since its independence in 1993.
In Slovakia, delegation-level talks with Fico and a meeting with President Peter Pellegrini are planned. Focus areas include trade, investment and manufacturing, notably in automobiles and railways.
The trip follows earlier high-level contacts, such as the Slovak President’s attendance at the AI Impact Summit in India during February 2026.
Modi will proceed to Evian, France, on June 16-17 for the G7 Summit, where talks on global economic recovery, international solidarity and responsible use of artificial intelligence are expected. Bilateral meetings with other leaders are also set on the sidelines.
The final stop in Paris on June 18 includes further bilateral meetings and participation in the VivaTech Summit, Europe’s major technology and startup gathering. Modi is also due to address the Indian community in France.
Officials state the visit highlights India’s expanding ties with Europe and its position as a prominent voice for the Global South.
The journey is anticipated to reinforce strategic links with France, Slovakia and G7 countries while advancing collaboration in innovation, digital change and sustainable growth.
