District Collector Rajakumari Ganiya stated that the state government aims to create a healthy Swarnandhra Pradesh by spreading yoga awareness among all residents through the Yogandhra-2026 initiative.

She inaugurated the program on Sunday morning at the Indoor Stadium in Nandyal town. At the event she observed yoga demonstrations by instructors and joined students, youth, officials and local residents in practice sessions.

The collector said the 14-day program runs from June 7 until International Yoga Day on June 21. She described yoga as a lifestyle that improves physical, mental and emotional well-being rather than just exercise.

She added that daily yoga combined with proper diet supports good health and longer life. Yoga boosts fitness, mental calm, concentration and positive energy for daily tasks, she noted.

The program welcomes participants of all ages. Registration is available on the Yogandhra portal. Certified master trainers from the National Institute of Yoga will lead sessions in every mandal, training roughly 50 people each over 14 days.

Large public yoga events are scheduled across the district on June 21. Residents are urged to attend with their families. The AYUSH and Medical & Health departments are coordinating the program, supported by special committees at district and mandal levels.

The collector thanked yoga instructors, officials and participants for their contributions. Numerous district staff, trainers, students and residents attended the launch.
