The case has drawn fresh scrutiny to the detention of retired judge Giribala Singh and her son, who were placed in 14 days of judicial custody. Concerns have surfaced about the conditions provided to Giribala Singh at Bhopal Central Jail. Authorities moved a deputy jailer following claims that she and her son Samarth Singh received special facilities against prison regulations in the Twisha Sharma death matter. Jail Superintendent Rakesh Bhangre stated that no special privileges were granted. He noted that Singh was placed in a ward normally used for sick or pregnant inmates, though it is not a medical unit. After reports of preferential treatment emerged, the officer was reassigned to administrative duties. Bhangre added that the placement followed court orders requiring a separate ward for her.
