Indian IT giant Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) announced on Sunday that it maintains a strict policy against all forms of harassment and coercion. The company confirmed it has suspended workers accused of sexual harassment at its facility in Nashik. This statement follows claims by eight women employees at the multinational’s Nashik branch, who reported incidents of sexual harassment and coerced religious conversion. Earlier this week, authorities established a special team to examine the complaints, in which the women alleged mistreatment by superiors and inaction from the human resources team. Police have detained seven individuals, including the site’s female HR head. In its response, TCS stated: ‘We uphold rigorous standards for employee safety and welfare. Upon learning of the Nashik incident, we acted promptly.’ The spokesperson noted that the implicated staff are suspended during the review, and the firm is assisting law enforcement, with additional steps to follow the probe’s outcome.
