Dubai: Terra-Invest announced that Sania Mirza, a six-time Grand Slam champion and former world number one, has joined the firm. She will co-lead efforts in longevity, preventative health, and the sports performance sector alongside the founding partners. Mirza will contribute to deal sourcing, evaluation, and portfolio support, drawing on her background as an athlete and entrepreneur. The firm maintains investments in related companies such as Smashers Sports, Shookra, The 2100 Club, and Precision Diagnostics. Its approach centers on the overlap between human performance and extended healthspan. Mirza won six Grand Slam titles and became the first Indian woman to reach the top ranking in doubles in 2015. She secured over forty WTA doubles titles across nearly two decades and earned India’s highest sporting awards, including the Padma Bhushan and Major Dhyan Chand Khel Ratna. She retired from competition in 2023. Off the court, she established the Sania Mirza Tennis Academy to develop young players domestically and has advised ventures in sports, media, and health while serving as a UN Women Goodwill Ambassador. In her new role, Mirza noted that recovery and prevention form the core of performance. Partners at Terra-Invest highlighted her sustained excellence and subsequent work building institutions as valuable for the portfolio.
