Our policy
How corrections work
Accuracy matters to us, and so does being open about our mistakes.
What we correct
Factual errors, wrong names or numbers, misattributed quotes and misleading headlines.
How we correct
We fix the story and add a note explaining what changed when the change is significant. We do not quietly rewrite facts.
What we do not change
We do not remove stories because someone dislikes them. Complaints about fairness are reviewed against our editorial standards.
What happens next
After you report an error
You do not need to give your name. Adding an email lets us ask questions or tell you the outcome.
1. We check
We look at the story and the information you sent, and go back to the original sources.
2. We fix
If we got it wrong, we correct the story and add a note when the change is significant.
3. We record it
Significant corrections are listed on this page, so anyone can see what we changed.
