New Delhi: On Friday, the Commonwealth Games Association of India hosted a prominent group from Commonwealth Sport, headed by President Dr. Donald Rukare, CEO Katie Sadleir, and Director of Games & Assurance Darren Hall. This visit formed part of ongoing discussions regarding arrangements for the 2030 Commonwealth Games set to take place in Ahmedabad.

The team conducted an extensive tour across multiple locations from April 8 to 10, examining major sites and facilities in Ahmedabad, Gandhinagar, Vadodara, and Ekta Nagar, as detailed in a statement.

Inspections covered event locations including Mahatma Mandir, Veer Savarkar Sports Complex, Narendra Modi Stadium, and IIT Gandhinagar, among others. The group also met with high-ranking officials from the Gujarat government and local administrations.

Beyond site evaluations, the delegation engaged in talks with key figures in Indian sports, such as representatives from the Commonwealth Games Association of India, the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, and various partners. These conversations focused on advancements, organizational structures, and implementation strategies for the Games.

This trip builds on prior communications between Commonwealth Sport and Indian parties aimed at enhancing the concept for a memorable 100th anniversary of the Commonwealth Games in 2030.
