G.P. Raja Sekhar, Vice-Chancellor of Andhra University, has presented a comprehensive plan for the institution, focusing on educational improvements, facility upgrades, and community engagement, as it celebrates its 100th year. During a discussion with The Hindu, he noted that this anniversary provides a chance to strengthen the university’s position in the evolving field of higher education.

The centenary events started on April 26, 2025, initiating a series of activities culminating on the university’s founding date of April 26, 2026. ‘I took charge on March 1, 2025, and even with the short timeframe, we issued an initial vision plan on April 26 to kick off the celebrations,’ stated Mr. Raja Sekhar.
