A new investigation has uncovered the self-cleaning ability of the green pill millipede (Arthrosphaera lutescens), a type unique to India’s Western Ghats. Scientists discovered that these creatures, mainly found in the Munnar area of Idukki and Nelliampathy in Palakkad, employ a natural process akin to the lotus leaf’s self-cleaning feature to maintain cleanliness.
