Hyderabad: Sunrisers Hyderabad’s pace bowling coach, Varun Aaron, commended debutants Praful Hinge and Sakib Hussain for their standout contributions in a 57-run triumph over Rajasthan Royals on Monday. The young bowlers each secured four wickets, helping secure the win in the Indian Premier League 2026 encounter.

SRH opted to field the 24-year-old Praful Hinge and 21-year-old Sakib Hussain in place of experienced players Harshal Patel and Jaydev Unadkat. Hinge recorded 4/34 in four overs, while Hussain achieved 4/24 in the same number of overs.

During the post-match press conference, Aaron described the duo’s display as a major milestone for the franchise. ‘Watching two newcomers perform like that was an ideal outcome for the squad,’ he stated.

Originating from Vidarbha, Praful, and Bihar’s Sakib both marked IPL history with four-wicket hauls on debut. Praful struck early, removing Vaibhav Sooryavanshi for zero on the first ball of Rajasthan’s innings, followed by Dhruv Jurel and Lhuan-dre Pretorius in the same over, leaving the opponents at 1-3 after one over. He later claimed captain Riyan Parag in the third over.

Sakib dismissed Yashasvi Jaiswal in the second over, along with Donovan Ferreira, Jofra Archer, and Ravi Bishnoi, contributing to Rajasthan being all out for 159 in 19 overs while chasing 217.

Aaron emphasized the importance of sticking to strategies and urged the debutants to savor the experience. He noted that considering their backgrounds, their achievements were remarkable. ‘We prioritized following through on our tactics from the outset, and that’s what happened. I just wanted them to relish the occasion, as debuts are unique. Given their paths, what they’ve accomplished is enormous,’ he explained.

Earlier, SRH reached 216/6, driven by captain Ishan’s 91 off 44 deliveries, including eight fours and six sixes, supported by Heinrich Klaasen’s 40 from 26 balls with one four and three sixes, and Nitish Kumar Reddy’s 28 off 13 balls featuring four boundaries.
