A Paris-based music streaming service has reported that 44% of tracks uploaded daily are produced by artificial intelligence. The French company noted that the volume of AI-generated songs submitted each day has risen from 10,000 to 75,000 over the past year. It also observed a significant uptick in fake streams for these entirely AI-made tracks, probably aimed at generating unauthorized revenue.

Music Streaming Service Highlights Increase in AI-Produced Track Submissions

As AI tools for music creation proliferate, from platforms like Suno to Google’s Lyria-integrated Gemini, streaming services are experiencing an influx of AI-generated content. This independent streaming provider is among the first to quantify the trend. In a recent announcement, it disclosed receiving approximately 75,000 AI-generated songs daily, accounting for about 44% of all uploads.

Although uploads have surged, listens to AI tracks remain minimal, comprising just 1% to 3% of total streams. The platform has identified a novel form of fraud involving these artificial tracks.

According to the service, roughly 85% of streams on AI-generated songs are fraudulent. Such manipulation involves using automated networks to simulate genuine plays and inflate metrics. The company has stopped monetizing these deceptive tracks.

“AI-produced music has become a significant trend, and with uploads growing daily, we urge the music industry to collaborate in protecting creators’ rights and ensuring clarity for listeners,” stated the CEO. He added that the firm’s AI detection system is now open for licensing.

The platform also explained that it routinely identifies and tags fully AI-generated songs to allow users to distinguish them from human-made ones. Detected tracks are excluded from automated suggestions and curated lists to prevent them from affecting royalty distributions for artists.
