In an incident near Bengaluru’s outskirts, several men in a luxury car claiming political connections attacked two toll booth workers and abducted one of them at the Kadatanamale Gate on April 17.
Around 1:30 a.m., the vehicle arrived at the booth. The occupants refused to pay the fee, stating they lacked a FASTag or cash, and insisted on free passage due to alleged ties to a legislator.
The confrontation intensified as three men exited the car and assaulted one employee, punching him in the face and causing bleeding, then kicking and striking his stomach after he collapsed.
A coworker, Deekshit, intervened but was also beaten, pulled into the car, and further assaulted inside. The attackers reportedly threatened to kill him for insisting on the toll.
The group then broke through the barrier and drove off in their luxury car and an accompanying SUV. Footage of the attack has emerged, showing the violence against the staff. Deekshit was later ejected from the vehicle near Suradenapura Gate, after which the suspects fled.
Authorities have filed charges under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and are actively searching for the perpetrators.
