Authorities in Punjab arrested a Pathankot resident on Thursday for allegedly spying on behalf of handlers based in Pakistan. The suspect, from Chakk Dhariwal village, is accused of installing an internet-connected CCTV camera at a shop beside National Highway 44 to monitor army and paramilitary movements. Police stated that live footage was transmitted to contacts in Pakistan, with additional instructions reportedly received from an individual in Dubai. The man allegedly received 40,000 rupees for the activity. Officers recovered the camera during questioning. The case follows similar arrests last month involving advanced surveillance devices used to observe sensitive military sites.
