The Karnataka Legislative Assembly and Legislative Council have signed an agreement with the National Informatics Centre to create the National e-Vidhan application. The project seeks to digitize operations of both houses.

Assembly Speaker U. T. Khader stated in Mangaluru on June 2 that development costs for the Assembly version, covering proceedings in Bengaluru and Belagavi, total around ₹78 crore. The Council application is estimated at ₹52 crore.

The Union Government will provide about 60% of funding, while the State Government covers the remaining 40%. A committee of officials from both houses will supervise the work.

Digitization will let legislators submit questions by email via tablets rather than in person and receive ministry responses more easily. Proposed bills can be shared publicly for input, and library materials will be digitized.

A separate mobile app is also being created to allow legislators to mark attendance using phones or tablets. In addition, two kiosks will be installed on each floor of Vidhana Soudha to help visitors find ministerial and departmental offices.
