Christian Eriksen is in good spirits and expected to leave the hospital soon after collapsing during a match for Denmark, the national team’s physician said Monday. The 34-year-old midfielder clutched his chest before falling in the 65th minute of an international friendly against Ukraine in Odense. He walked off the field unaided after medical attention and underwent further tests at Odense University Hospital. A federation statement noted that Eriksen is with family and feeling well, with plans for discharge and return home. The organization is supporting players and staff. Eriksen received an implantable cardioverter defibrillator after a cardiac arrest in 2021.
