Defence Minister has approved a 250 MW solar power project with battery energy storage system in Sitapur, Uttar Pradesh. The facility will occupy 850 acres of unused defence land and marks the first such large-scale initiative by the ministry. Officials described the effort as a model for similar green energy projects planned across thousands of acres of vacant defence properties nationwide. The ministry issued the announcement on Monday.
