US stock markets opened higher on Monday after Washington and Tehran announced a preliminary agreement to ease Middle East tensions and reopen the Strait of Hormuz, triggering a drop in crude prices.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average gained 162.3 points, or 0.32%, to reach 51364.55 at the open. The S&P 500 advanced 85.3 points, or 1.15%, to 7516.75, while the Nasdaq Composite climbed 558.4 points, or 2.16%, to 26447.23.
