Annamalai, founder of the We The Leader movement, stated on Tuesday that the planned measures for the NEET retest may fail to address existing concerns and could instead create additional difficulties. In a social media statement, he questioned the Education Ministry’s arrangements for the June 21 retest. While acknowledging efforts to curb paper leaks through stricter security and oversight, Annamalai noted that longer entry checks, more thorough frisking, and an extended exam duration from 180 to 195 minutes would heighten pressure on students already under stress. He argued that these steps overlook the extra strain placed on candidates who have prepared for months, undermining the intent of the exam system and the NEP 2020 aim to lessen test-related anxiety.
