NEW DELHI: A NEET-UG 2026 candidate from Nagpur who had been assigned an exam centre in Abu Dhabi took the medical entrance retest on Sunday after the National Testing Agency changed the location to Nagpur. The student arrived at PM SHRI Kendriya Vidyalaya in Ajni following receipt of a revised admit card the previous day. The issue arose when the original admit card listed the overseas venue, prompting social media discussion and questions from opposition leader Rahul Gandhi. The candidate’s family stated they had selected only domestic cities and contacted NTA officials, who later confirmed the update. The agency noted that records showed the change occurred via the candidate’s login during the correction period, though the family disputed this and listed Nagpur, Bhandara and Wardha as preferences. The re-examination is underway across thousands of centres in India and abroad with extensive monitoring measures in place.
