Host India secured a strong position in the Seniors section and stayed competitive in other top categories after Day 2 of the 5th Bonus Asia Cup Bridge Championships 2026 at the Taj Cidade de Goa Horizon. The event, recognized by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports and backed by the Sports Authority of India, includes nearly 300 top players in 46 teams from 16 countries.
India A Seniors topped the first round robin with 87.25 Victory Points, ahead of Thailand on 77.48. Australia placed third at 77.24, with Japan fourth on 76.47. India B Seniors ranked sixth at 75.60, just ahead of Chinese Taipei on 75.50. Both Indian teams remain in contention for semifinals as the next round robin starts tomorrow.
In Open Teams, China leads with 100.88 Victory Points, followed by Hong Kong China A at 100.20 and India B at 97.15. India A sits fourth with 90.40, while Japan and Korea trail closely.
China A and China B head the Mixed Teams with 106.98 and 102.31 Victory Points. Hong Kong China A holds third at 96.25. Thailand, Chinese Taipei and India B compete for the final semifinal spot.
In Women’s Teams, Indonesia leads with 84.31 Victory Points, ahead of China on 79.85. Hong Kong China B is third at 67.77, with India A and Japan close behind for the remaining places.
