Police in Pakistan have arrested a man accused of holding his French wife and their children captive while abusing them for over a decade. The alleged abuse occurred after the family moved from Australia to Pakistan in 2014. The wife, identified as Sylvie Yasmina, told authorities that her husband assaulted the family physically and mentally every day. One son escaped and alerted police, leading to a raid on their home in the remote town of Bara in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province. Officers found the woman and her five children in a cramped, dilapidated room with visible bruises. They have been relocated to a shelter in Peshawar and wish to return to France. The suspect, a Pakistani national, remains in custody as investigations continue.
