Sujata Rout Karthikeyan, a former IAS officer and spouse of politician VK Pandian, officially joined the Biju Janata Dal on Thursday at the party headquarters in Bhubaneswar. BJD president Naveen Patnaik attended the event. Party workers and women’s wing leaders gave her a warm welcome. Patnaik stated that she would enter as an ordinary member, drawing on her experience managing women’s welfare in Odisha, and would gradually assist citizens, especially women.
