Actor Satendra Soni, known for his role in Laapataa Ladies, has accused a filmmaker of assault and threats following a payment dispute. The incident reportedly occurred during a film shoot in Madhya Pradesh. Soni claimed in an emotional Instagram video that the director, identified as Pushpendra Singh, refused to pay the remaining amount after eight days of filming and ordered him off the set. He further alleged that Singh and his wife, Pragati Chauhan, chased him and two others in a vehicle before attacking them on a public road. Another person who intervened was also reportedly assaulted. Soni stated he had received an initial advance of 50,000 rupees with the balance promised after the shoot. In a follow-up post, he confirmed returning safely to Mumbai and thanked the Madhya Pradesh Police for assistance. Soni has appeared in supporting roles in films including Doctor G, Bawaal and Raat Akeli Hai, as well as the series Hello Bachhon. He gained wider notice in Kiran Rao’s Laapataa Ladies and is set to appear in Mirzapur: The Movie.
