Iran held emotional farewell events for its former Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, who died on February 28 at the start of a Middle East conflict. US President Donald Trump criticized Tehran on Friday, stating that America had allowed Iran a week for the funeral because it is “nice”. Speaking at a Mount Rushmore gathering before July 4 events marking 250 years of US independence, Trump said the United States had struck Iran hard and that Tehran was eager to reach a settlement.
