Senior Congress leader Randeep Singh Surjewala has accused authorities of widespread irregularities during the Haryana Teacher Eligibility Test and called for the exam to be cancelled and conducted again. He stated that the Level-3 test for postgraduate teacher posts, held on July 4 across 238 centres in the state, was undermined by claims of a paper leak, opened question paper packets, mismatched OMR sheets, incorrect papers distributed, and multiple printing mistakes. Surjewala reported that sealed packets were found broken at sites in Rewari and Charkhi Dadri, with invigilators claiming the materials arrived that way from the education board. He added that a local magistrate in Charkhi Dadri confirmed the seal issues and pointed to board responsibility. Additional claims included mismatched serial numbers on papers and sheets in Rewari and Kaithal, OMR sheets issued with wrong roll numbers that were later swapped, and large numbers of spare sheets available. Some English candidates in Rewari reportedly received Economics papers first. Errors cited included a missing reading passage, incomplete Hindi questions, spelling issues, and a mistranslation of the word urine. Surjewala urged cancellation of the test, an FIR into the seal breaches, action against board staff, and an apology from the chief minister. No response from officials was available.
