Prime Minister Narendra Modi began a three-nation tour of Indonesia, Australia and New Zealand on Monday. He stated that the July 6-11 visit would strengthen India’s Act East Policy, MAHASAGAR Vision and support for a free and open Indo-Pacific. Upon reaching Jakarta, Modi was welcomed at the airport by Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto. The leaders plan to discuss bilateral ties in defence, maritime security, critical minerals, food security and the digital economy during their meeting on Tuesday. Modi noted on social media that the 2018 elevation of relations to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership has benefited both nations and that further talks aim to expand cooperation across multiple areas.
