Anuradha Mascarenhas serves as Senior Editor at The Indian Express in Pune. Over three decades she has become a leading figure in coverage of healthcare, scientific research and environmental topics, while also addressing women’s issues. She holds a gold medal in Communication and Journalism from Savitribai Phule Pune University and a master’s degree in literature. Mascarenhas wrote the biography At The Wheel Of Research about former WHO Chief Scientist Dr Soumya Swaminathan. She has received the Press Council of India’s national award for gender-based reporting in 2019, the Laadli Media award in 2024 and the Lokmat journalism award in 2022. Her book was nominated for a JK Paper AUTHER award.
