India lost by 125 runs, their largest margin in a T20I chase, to England in the third T20I at Trent Bridge after being dismissed for 76 while chasing 202. This marks India’s fourth defeat in five matches since winning the 2026 T20 World Cup, with the only non-loss being the abandoned first T20I. England now lead the five-match series 2-0 and cannot lose it. Only four Indian batters reached double figures, with Vaibhav Sooryavanshi and Abhishek Sharma top-scoring on 13 each.
Phil Salt led England’s batting with 70 off 44 balls, and Sam Curran remained unbeaten on 41 from 24 deliveries as the hosts posted 201 for 7. India’s innings collapsed early, losing four wickets in the powerplay and reaching 54 for 5 after six overs.
England’s pace bowlers Josh Tongue and Jofra Archer took the early wickets. Tongue dismissed Abhishek Sharma in the second over, while Archer removed Vaibhav Sooryavanshi in the third. Ishan Kishan fell to Tongue in the fourth, and Archer claimed Shreyas Iyer and Axar Patel in the fifth.
