A video of a first AC railway compartment turned into a wedding-style suite has spread widely on social media. The space features flowers, balloons, rose petals and fairy lights, prompting the nickname “Suhagrat Express” and mixed comments about official approval.
Reports indicate the clip was first posted on Instagram by a Jalna-based decoration firm called Rahat Room Decoration. Although the original post has been removed, the footage continues to circulate.
The video starts on the platform, moves along the corridor and enters a specially adorned coupe. A pink beaded curtain with heart motifs marks the entrance. Red and white balloons cover the ceiling, red rose petals line the floor, and garlands of roses, marigolds and tuberose hang near the windows.
The lower berth is covered with white sheets and a heart shape made of petals. Additional petals lie on the bed, while the folded upper berth displays “I love you” cut-outs and small fairy lights.
Online reactions vary. Some users praised the idea as a way for railways to earn revenue, while others questioned whether permission was granted and raised concerns about privacy.
