Alexander Zverev defeated British wildcard Arthur Fery 7-6 (7-0), 6-2, 6-4 to reach his first Wimbledon final. Coming off his first Grand Slam title at the French Open, the German noted that Wimbledon had long been his most difficult major but now finds himself one match from the trophy. He faces either defending champion Jannik Sinner or seven-time winner Novak Djokovic on Sunday. Zverev said he must trust his ability to win regardless of the opponent. The result also made him the first German man to reach the Wimbledon final since Boris Becker in 1995. Zverev praised Fery as a player with a promising future and thanked the spectators for creating a fair and impressive atmosphere despite their support for the home player.
