A large fire erupted at a second-hand car storage facility in Chaderghat on Friday evening, causing alarm among local residents. No deaths or injuries were reported at the time of writing.
Fire department officials stated they received an emergency call near 4:20 p.m. and dispatched seven fire engines to the location. Crews continued working to contain the flames as operations remained active.
Thick smoke rose high into the air, drawing attention from people and drivers along the crowded road. A student taking an exam at a nearby private institute noted that flames reached up to the fourth floor of the structure.
Initial findings indicated the fire likely started among used vehicles or stored decorative items and spread to nearby huts and tin sheds along the Musi riverbank. Officials are also checking if it began from a garbage heap due to discarded smoking materials. The fire department confirmed that probes continue to identify the precise cause.
Hyderabad traffic police issued a notice stating that movement remains slow from Chaderghat Circle toward Chaderghat X Roads because of the incident near the Musi riverbed behind the local police station. Officers were sent to handle traffic flow.
