An Indian-origin technology executive was fatally shot by her husband during a domestic dispute in a Georgia neighborhood earlier this week. The 23-year-old son, wounded in the attack, fled the home and sought assistance from nearby residents.

The incident occurred around 8 p.m. at a residence on Laurel Creek Trail. Cobb County police arrested 56-year-old Kirk B. Wrzesien at the scene without further incident. Authorities described the event as a domestic violence case with no broader public risk.

Wrzesien faces charges of felony murder, two counts of aggravated assault, and two counts of firearm possession during a felony. He remains held without bond at the Cobb County Adult Detention Center.

The victim, identified as Shital Wrzesien, also known as Sheetal, was an engineering leader at Google. A Georgia Tech alumna with more than two decades in technology, she had lived in England, India, and Ghana before moving to the United States. She held two software patents and served on advisory boards for the university.

A neighbor reported that the injured son first sought help unsuccessfully at one home before reaching a second residence, where occupants provided aid until emergency responders arrived. The son had returned home to find his parents arguing.
