A man reportedly struck and hurt his sister using a saw after she protested his verbal abuse toward their mother. He also struck their grandmother and uncle when they attempted to stop him, according to police statements on Saturday.

The event occurred in Dulehar village, Una district of Himachal Pradesh, on Friday morning. The 22-year-old woman received a serious cut near her ear and was taken to the local Community Health Centre in Dulaihar. Doctors recommended an X-ray and head scan to assess possible internal damage.

In her statement, the woman said she was brushing her teeth at home around 7 am when her brother began shouting at their mother. She tried to calm him and urged him not to mistreat their mother. The man became angry, grabbed a saw during the argument, and struck her, police reported.

The grandmother heard the screams and came to help but was also hit. The uncle suffered injuries while trying to separate them. Neighbors later helped take the injured woman to the health centre.

Police registered a case against the man under sections 126(2), 115(2), and 352 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita for causing hurt, wrongful restraint, and disturbing peace. A medical report was prepared. The investigation continues, medical checks are complete, and the victim’s statement has been taken.
