A Jammu court has permitted the counter-intelligence unit of Jammu and Kashmir Police to question three publishers in custody for ten days. The arrests relate to the production and supply of two books that allegedly praise separatists and militants.
The detained individuals include Inderpaul Singh of Oberoi Book Service in Jammu and Amardeep Singh along with Girish Arora of Dominant Publishers based in Noida. The titles under scrutiny are Personalities and Legends of J&K by Hilal Ahmad and Santosh Meena, and Great Personalities of Jammu and Kashmir by Sushant Giri. Both volumes were supplied to government school libraries across the union territory.
