The family of a 24-year-old Punjabi woman who was fatally stabbed in West London fears the attack may have been racially motivated. A man has been charged with her murder.

Emergency services responded to a property on Uxbridge Road in Hayes around 7:55 a.m. on July 12, 2026, following reports of a stabbing. Officers found Kirandeep Kaur with stab wounds. She was pronounced dead at the scene despite efforts by responders.

A man in his 20s was also found outside the property with stab injuries. He was taken to hospital, where his condition is not considered life-threatening.

A section of Uxbridge Road was cordoned off that afternoon as forensic teams examined the scene. A forensic tent was erected, and officers remained on site during the investigation.

Daniel Sean James, 44, was charged on July 13 with murder, attempted murder, and possession of a bladed article. He appeared before Willesden Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday.

Detective Chief Inspector Allam Bhangoo described the incident as shocking and said support was being provided to the victims and their families.

Kirandeep Kaur, originally from Punjab’s Tarn Taran district, moved to England in 2024 on a student visa and had recently finished her studies. Her family said she had begun working and planned to settle in the UK. Relatives reportedly sold land and took loans to fund her education.

The family has asked authorities to examine whether the killing was racially motivated. They described her as a devoted mother who had recently given birth. Police investigations continue, and anyone with information is asked to contact the Metropolitan Police.
