Chief Minister Mohan Yadav has assumed responsibility for the Animal Husbandry and Dairy Development department after reviewing the work of his ministers. The portfolio was withdrawn from Minister of State Lakhan Patel, who held independent charge, and reassigned to Yadav. Patel was instead given charge of the Anand Department. The General Administration Department issued the order late Tuesday without stating an official reason. The move follows recent individual performance meetings held by Yadav to evaluate departmental functioning. Reports indicate the change was linked to delays in opening cow shelters under a public-private partnership model.
