H Vinoth’s Jana Nayagan will reach theaters on July 23 after multiple delays. The project stars Vijay and was postponed following his election as Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu. KVN Productions made the official announcement on social media with a new poster showing Vijay in police attire holding a katana. The film is scheduled for overseas release the next day on July 24. This date may create a box office clash with the debut film of Vijay’s son Jason Sanjay. Titled Sigma, the heist movie stars Sundeep Kishan and Faria Abdullah. Lyca Productions has not altered its planned release. Reports of family tensions have circulated after news of a divorce filing. Neither the children nor their mother attended the swearing-in ceremony, which was attended by Vijay’s parents and cousins. The cast also includes Pooja Hegde, Bobby Deol, Mamitha Baiju, Gautham Vasudev Menon, Prakash Raj, Narain and Priyamani. The story is described as an adaptation of the 2023 Telugu film Bhagavanth Kesari. It was originally planned for a January 2026 Pongal release but faced further delay over certification.
