Microsoft’s chief executive Satya Nadella has expressed disapproval of restrictions imposed by Anthropic on its advanced AI system known as Claude Fable. He stated on Wednesday that these limitations lack justification.
In remarks to engineers developing the company’s Copilot AI tool, Nadella compared the situation to previous instances of heavily regulated creative software, according to a report from CNBC.
The comments focus on Anthropic’s rule preventing users from using outputs of Claude Fable to develop rival AI systems, a process called model distillation. When queries relate to building large models, the company reportedly provides answers from an earlier version instead.
