Music composer Tanishk Bagchi has stated that he has not yet received eight lakh rupees in royalties for the title track of Saiyaara. The claim comes one year after the Mohit Suri film achieved major box-office success and set several records. Bagchi posted a detailed note on Instagram describing the situation and emphasizing that the message was not intended to seek sympathy. He recalled agreeing to work with YRF Entertainment for the first time and investing heavily in the track’s production, composition, lyrics collaboration, recording, and arrangements. He noted that the payment received covered only live sessions and mixes, leaving nothing further. Bagchi added that royalty statements still show eight lakh rupees outstanding despite millions of streams and views. He described the amount as small relative to the effort involved and said the experience has altered his view of the industry. The composer indicated he will now work only with producers and directors who respect creativity and fairness. He expressed respect for director Mohit Suri and left the matter to time and karma. The track was created with Faheem Abdullah and Arslan Nizami, written by Irshad Kamil, and performed by Faheem. Saiyaara opened in theaters in July 2025 and became a widespread cultural hit.
