Elephant Atta will provide free bags of flour at the Blackburn Food Festival and donate supplies to two local community groups. The brand plans to hand out free 1.5kg bags during the event on July 25 at East Lancs Cricket and Sports Club in Blackburn. Attendees may pick up a bag at the Elephant Atta stall or from selected vendors at the festival. The brand joins over 40 stalls highlighting Lancashire and global foods, showcasing Blackburn’s varied communities. The festival runs from 11 am to 7 pm and is likely to draw food enthusiasts from the surrounding area. In addition to the giveaway, Elephant Atta is donating a pallet of flour to Blackburn Foodbank and the Community Fridge on Devonport Road. The brand manager noted that the company has long been part of British households and is pleased to back the city’s first food festival while aiding the local area. Festival organizers thanked the brand for its support and noted that the donations will help two groups assisting families in Blackburn. Blackburn Foodbank offers emergency food and practical aid to those facing financial difficulties and currently seeks donations of tinned vegetables, tinned fish, tinned chickpeas, biscuits and shampoo. The Community Fridge, run by Al-Buraq Mosque, works to cut food waste and assist residents. It opens weekly to all, allowing people to donate extra food or take what they need. The Blackburn Food Festival occurs from 11 am to 7 pm at East Lancs Cricket and Sports Club on Dukes Brow, with free flour available while supplies remain. The leader of Blackburn with Darwen Borough Council described the event as a great chance for residents and visitors to try new foods and support local businesses.
