Pragya Srivastava serves as editor of Plain Facts, Mint’s data journalism section. She oversees a team focused on extracting insights from intricate datasets. Since assuming leadership in 2025, she has applied more than ten years of reporting experience to connect numerical information with narrative accounts.

Over the past eight years, she has produced detailed examinations of India’s key economic and social metrics. Her work covers reviews of GDP measurement methods, assessments of official data sources and surveys, and studies based on the Time-Use Survey that explore how marriage affects women’s employment and daily routines.

She began as a copy editor and reporter at the Press Trust of India in 2016. Her focus on data analysis took her to The Financial Express and Cogencis, where she examined national statistics closely. She joined Plain Facts in 2021. She emphasizes that data and visuals support reporting only when supported by thorough context that informs policy and daily decisions.
