The Telangana Real Estate Regulatory Authority has prolonged the registration validity and completion deadlines for registered real estate projects by four months. It cited the current conditions in West Asia and classified them as a ‘war’ to apply force majeure clauses under the Real Estate (Regulation and Development) Act, 2016.

The extension covers projects with original, revised or extended completion dates on or after February 28, per a TGRERA order dated July 31, 2026. This follows an advisory from the Union Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs issued the same day.

Under the order, registration validity and matching completion timelines for qualifying projects will automatically extend by four months.

For projects with completion dates falling between February 28 and July 31, the new deadline is November 30.

TGRERA invoked Section 6 of the Real Estate (Regulation and Development) Act, 2016, along with Rule 6 of the Telangana Real Estate (Regulation and Development) Rules, 2017. Developers need not file separate applications or pay fees, as the relief applies automatically to eligible projects.
