The Election Commission announced today that the deadline for the Special Intensive Revision of voter lists in the national capital has been moved to August 17. This marks the second extension granted for the exercise this month. Under the updated timeline, draft electoral rolls will now appear on August 24 rather than the previous target of August 17.
The commission adjusted several stages of the ongoing revision process. Electoral officials will now review and resolve claims and objections filed by voters from August 24 through October 22.
Publication of the final electoral rolls has been shifted to October 27, compared with the earlier planned date of October 19.
In Delhi, Booth Level Officers have already delivered enumeration forms to nearly all 1.45 crore registered voters. Over 62 percent of the returned forms have been digitized to date.
Previously, the deadline for the door-to-door verification conducted by these officers stood at August 8.
Electors should align their information with records from the prior revision held between 2002 and 2005. The left portion of the form applies to those listed in Delhi’s 2002 rolls. Individuals registered elsewhere during that period must supply matching details from the relevant state rolls.
Required information includes the elector’s name, EPIC number, relative’s name, relationship, district, state, assembly constituency name and number, part number, and serial number. A recent passport-sized photograph is also needed.
If a name does not appear in the earlier rolls, a connection can be made via parents or grandparents listed in those records. The right section of the form then requires details of that relative and the relationship.
The lower part of the form asks for date of birth, mobile number, and the name of a parent, guardian, or spouse along with that person’s current EPIC number. Aadhaar details remain optional.
Residents in Delhi since before 2002 may check the 2002 rolls on the Chief Electoral Officer website. Those absent from the lists should supply information on a listed relative, including name, state, assembly constituency, constituency number, part number, and serial number.
