Real estate industry groups CREDAI and NAREDCO welcomed the Reserve Bank of India’s choice to leave the repo rate unchanged on Wednesday. They said steady home loan rates would support continued demand for housing. The central bank held its key policy rate steady for the fourth straight meeting, waiting for more clarity on whether rising energy costs linked to the Iran conflict would push broader inflation higher. It raised its GDP growth forecast for the current year to 6.7 percent and trimmed its inflation outlook to 5 percent. CREDAI President Shekhar Patel said the move offers stability and reassurance to the property sector amid global uncertainties. He noted that real estate involves long-term commitments, so predictable rates help both buyers and developers plan effectively. NAREDCO President Parveen Jain also praised the decision, saying it should send positive signals to the realty sector and maintain housing demand momentum during the festive season. Developers including Experion’s Priyamvada Navet and Signature Global’s Pradeep Aggarwal echoed that stable borrowing costs and policy continuity would aid project execution and buyer confidence.
