Egyptian forward Mohamed Salah has signed a two-year contract with Turkish club Trabzonspor. The deal was agreed on Thursday after he arrived in Istanbul the day before as a free agent following his exit from Liverpool. The 34-year-old became a standout performer at Liverpool, claiming two Premier League titles and the Champions League among eight major trophies. He scored 257 goals in 442 appearances for the club and ranks among its greatest players. Although one year remained on his Liverpool contract, he decided to leave in March after a season yielding only 12 goals and a public dispute with manager Arne Slot. Trabzonspor, a seven-time Turkish champion, finished third in the previous campaign.
